Wizz Air - Cancelled flight as no longer running the route - what are my options?

Hi,
Wizz Air have cancelled my Gatwick - Agadir flight in October half term as I think they are no longer doing the route.
I have read the MSExpert guide - am I right in thinking I can ask Wizz Air to find me an alternative flight? I don't have to take the refund? They will have to book me on an alternative carrier?
Easyjet are doing the same route on the same days but it is double the cost of what I booked via Wizz Air
Thanks

I would be surprised if you can get anything more than a refund since the flight is cancelled so long in advance.1

It says so on this guide, so I just wanted to double check really before I have a call with Wizz Air

Incorrect. UK261 legislation states that in the event of a cancellation it is the passenger's choice of refund or re-routing. There is no time limit on this entitlement.Mark_d said:I would be surprised if you can get anything more than a refund since the flight is cancelled so long in advance.
@skipfeeney you are correct that you can choose rerouting and per the regulations the airline should arrange rerouting. However in practice many airlines won't arrange rerouting on other carriers, particularly low cost carriers who don't have any arrangements with other airlines.
Get in touch with Wizz and tell them you would like to still travel and alternative flights are available with easyJet. I expect they'll say they're unable or refuse to rebook you. At that point you can book the easyJet flights yourself and then claim the cost back from Wizzair. Worth pointing out that this may be a drawn out process.
Wizzair do say they abide by EC261 and the following page does say alternative transportation can be booked and claimed back, although it does seem to be talking about short notice cancellations Passenger rights2 -
