Hi
We moved property in June and I gave BT 2 weeks notice in order that our Broadband could be set up for us. They agreed on a date of 5th June which as perfect as we moved in on the 4th June. Since then there has been delay after delay as there needs to be pavement digging work to be done in order to install the fibre through ducting.
I was expecting them tomorrow but now they have moved the date again to the 28th August!
Has anyone successfully complained and received a better service? If so I'd be grateful for any input.
Thanks

There is something of a drawback in the way FTTP is rolled out , in your case it’s very likely that the address is arbitrarily’served’ by FTTP which in effect makes the existing copper pair connection redundant, but the FTTP availability is actually relatively near by , not on your curtilage, so there is no final ‘drop’ to your home .
This final connection be where the fibre CBT is , up-to 100m away but likely much nearer to your home is where the issue is , and is taking time to resolve, in some ways it would be similar if you didn’t have FTTP available but the existing copper cable was damaged or faulty, excavating etc would be still be needed in that situation as well, the drawback as far as I see it is they won’t temporarily use the copper pair until the FTTP is fully provided, however , most BT customers in this situation are offered a 4G mobile hotspot device to tide them over during this period of wait for the FTTP to be delivered.0 -

Eases the pain somewhat, tho thankfully I at least still had basic broadband throughout their inability to get fibre up and running.
