NITS (but no Nit Nurse)

My Honor 8x is 6 years old, good phone APART from its daylight screen, something governed by - i kid you not - NITS, in daylight the screen is hardly visible despite trying every possible setting

im told Xioma phones are very good/pound spent, any ideas?

It is not "governed" by NITS, NITS is a measure of brightness, nothing more. Your current phone has an IPS LCD, they are nor brilliant in bright daylight but should not be as bad as you say. That phone stopped receiving security updates years ago so that is however a far bigger issue.

What is your budget? Are you open to reconditioned phones?
