I’ll just add that the OP’s rights as a consumer are against the seller, not the manufacturer. No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?1

Trading Standards is not a ombudsman, nor will they talk to the public, or take on individual cases. OP would need to go via Citizen Advice.gzoom said:^Oh in which case you are really stuck. Short of taking the case to the trading standards ombudsman looks like you have no real options

Is the builder happy to just crack on?
But in reality OP needs an expert 3rd party report to say what is wrong & what needs doing. Depending on that & how supplier deals. Then taking them to court would be the next step.Life in the slow lane0 -
I'm surprised the manufacturer thinks it's a good job, unless they don't want the installer to start using another firm. It looks obvious to me from the photos it's not fixed correctly.

The short frame explains everything. Once the size is off, the installer starts patching with screws and fillers just to keep it in place. The damaged brickwork shows they forced it. A frameless oriel window needs a flat, solid base because all the load sits right there. When I sorted a similar window, I worked with The Soundproof Windows and they showed me how tight the sizing has to be. A few millimetres change the whole fit. If your unit was surveyed and still came out short, I’d ask for a remake, not a cover-up.-1
