Neighbour attaching trellis to my wall (more detailed than it sounds)

@baz8755 sorry I didn't mean to sound trite. I just know how things can spiral in our heads. A Ring doorbell sounds the answer. I would also forget about the trellis for now. Don't give him the power. Just smile politely and ignore him. That will annoy him more than any legal action. I know it's easier said than done but if you do not react he will be powerless.

The unreasonable and unpleasant actions of others can cause an emotional wearing down, so they end up getting away with a lot more than they ever should. It's like a 'power' thing, and it works by taking advantage of other people's empathy and decency.
You know where you are with this situation now, baz, and what you can do about it.
Cameras up yet?Do so - it'll be transformative to how you feel, as it'll be a constant witness to your reasonableness, and his belligerence.
Get your LP's backing, and then plan your approach.
The problem with this gentleman is his previous behaviour and despite him saying he would take it down after talking to his wife he has not. I am a very trusting person who will go out of my way to help anyone and like to think everyone else has the same moral compass but I feel that no matter how much leeway I give him he is never going to be respectful.
But your call on what to do.
Please do understand that humans are a very diverse and hugely flawed species. For a very sizeable portion of the population - quite likely approaching half - their compass points only at themselves.

OP what do you mean that this neighbour painted your drive? Did they throw paint over it? Did you call the police as that's criminal damage! Seems the fence is a minor issue.0

We told the police not to bother for fear of escalation.....this is a common theme, they are unpredictable and have little regard.0
