The guy did not get a High Court by ignoring DRP.4 -
James_Poisson said:If it says no "unauthorised parking" they offered you nothing so there was no commercial contract for you to enter in to and they cannot impose a fee.In effect you were trespassing a parking company cannot charge a fee for trespass, the land owner or it's agent can ask you to leave their land that's about the bottom of it they cannot send you an invoice for nothing after the event.
It had the usual signage up though? That detailed everything like normal0 -
Of course it did. There must be signs. There isn't a single case here in the 17 years I've been on this forum, without 'the usual signs'!PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

And DR Plus aren't solicitors. They can't sue.
You'll get a court claim (in the end) from DCB Legal and after a year they'll discontinue. The PCN will die a death and there will be no hearing, no CCJ and no costs.
As you lost at POPLA and are asking pertinent questions and seem to want to get to the bottom of everything, we hope want to be part of the push to change things in future?
It's very important that people like you - let down by POPLA - join us to reply to the new Public Consultation, to tell the Government NOW that:
a) you have no faith in POPLA or the IAS and that there must be the SINGLE APPEALS SERVICE that the Parking (Code of Practice) Act 2019 promised the public. As long as it is independent (and only ONE appeals service, not two involved in a race to the bottom) that will give a real option to resolve disputed cases out of court. You wanted a fair ADR and did not get it.
b). THAT THE ENRICHMENT OF 'DEBT RECOVERY FEES' MUST BE COMPLETELY BANNED. DISPUTED CASES ARE NOT SOLVED BY A THIRD PARTY DEMANDING MORE MONEY AND OFFERING A POINTLESS 'PAYMENT PLAN'!
c). Tell them about your experience and that your case is now heading slowly to court stage, precisely because (a) and (b) above mean there is no option, no safeguard for consumers EXCEPT court claims, where DCB Legal will (as usual) feign to proceed, then they'll discontinue. Wasting everyone's time.
Responses are invited to the Consultation now:
Do it in August pleeease! We will discuss it all in more detail in the coming weeks on that thread so do come back in a fortnight.
In the meantime I'd also suggest:
1. You should read the RAC Guide 2025 which corroborates exactly what we are telling you:
2. you should watch the recent parliamentary debate and learn why everyone ignores £170 threatograms which MPs call a 'scam' (and did you see the pictures of them in the fourth post of the NEWBIES thread? Obviously ignore DR Plus letters!):
I will definitely do that, my MP is Andrew Rosindell who is good at replying to us. Thanks for your help.
Also if you don't mind, I'm just curious about completely different PCN's (or should i make a new thread?), I have had one with groupnexus, where I parked on their private land without proper authorisation received a PCN, and it's been 1 year 7 months, they've not chased me or anything for payment, it rose to £170, my MP contacted them, they took it down to original discounted price, I still ignored it and now I've never heard from it again. I'll give you the details:
GroupnexusVehicle Registration: EA19OGK
PCN Reference: 2000013161388
As you can see it's 1.5 years old, is it too late for them to chase after it now?
The other one, i was delivering using a van, you see in the evidence me taking parcels from the back, I was however parked on a red route, I was in the wrong, I appealed to TFL, they rejected, i appealed to london tribunals, they actually took my side, but then TFL appealed that decision and then that's the last I heard of it. Will this PCN never go anywhere due to how long it's been? This was was from June or July 2023..
Thank you.0 -

Thanks
the advice you are getting here is 100% correct2 -
Come off facebook for these.
One of those sites - the one that charges money - is run by Tony Taylor who is an ex UKPC employee who has never appeared in court to help people. I have, and I've never lost a case.
We know what we're doing. We help everyone free of charge.
You can even read the Template Defence I wrote for everyone to use. It's pinned at the top of the forum. It's there when you need it and you'll never pay a penny.
The Group Nexus one might be shunted to DCB Legal at some point as there are 6 years to sue under contract law in England.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

My friend just linked me this reddit thread, the comments are scary, saying not to ignore it, while others are saying what you are saying. The people saying not to ignore it seem smart idk, i've just never been to court or took it this far before so i'm scared..0 -
James_Poisson said:cringepcnskekw said:ChirpyChicken said:Ignore drp dont take them seriously. No one here does. The regulars on here would not let that happen, and they have been helping people on here since 2008, you have just quoted one isolated case with no background.DR Plus are a no win no fee so called debt collector, engaged to send scary letter full of BS. I have ignored them nothing happened because like you I had no debt only a speculative invoice from a bunch of chancersIf you had legitimate business on that industrial estate how are you supposed to get authorisation? What exactly have the scammers said you have been charged for (it is a parking charge not a "fine") that letter says nothing. You do not make up stories about what happened you tell the truth, though nothing you would have said would get the greedy scammers to cancel.I suspect you just told POPLA a story of what happened they are only interested in process, contracts, signage land owners contract etc. not mitigation.GSV is six years out of date but the signage then was non existent I suspect you parked along here, DYL's on private property are just pretty paint, they don't mean the same as public roads they can mean no Fords can park there if the scammer say so.Have you read the newbies thread?
You say you ignored DCBL and nothing happened, but on another thread they actually took someone to court at the top of the forum. I'm worried about ignoring is the right thing to do..0 -
Right

Thats exactly what your doing
