DVLA licence renewal refuse to accept my passport photo

Also, you can renew your passport using a photo you take yourself with a mobile phone, yet DVLA want you to go to a Photo Booth, print a photo and post it to them.
The whole DVLA system is flawed, are they thinking a photo driving licence is somehow “better” ID than a passport and therefore cannot use details from the passport office, or has someone unplugged the cable connecting the two departments?3 -
Mrs K & self have both renewed licences online, over 70, using new blue passport photos. Sounds like DVLA is confused1

They might have spotted a new type of fraud and closed a loophole.Frozen_up_north said:Also, you can renew your passport using a photo you take yourself with a mobile phone, yet DVLA want you to go to a Photo Booth, print a photo and post it to them.

No, you can print your selfie and use that if you prefer.Frozen_up_north said:Also, you can renew your passport using a photo you take yourself with a mobile phone, yet DVLA want you to go to a Photo Booth, print a photo and post it to them.0 -
i just looked into turning 70 and renewing your driving licence (its every three years as already pointed out).
i then looked into the general rules for a photocard driving licence (and that needs to be renewed every 10 years until you reach 70).
However the paper driving licence remains valid until you turn 70.
Therefore, what's the law on not renewing the photocard driving licence every 10 years and just using the paper driving licence until you turn 70 ----------> is that legal?
I have a tendency to mute most posts so if your expecting me to respond you might be waiting along time!0 -
No, I would expect the paper licence is deemed to have been superseded by the photocard.0

ALL licences are valid until 70. If you have a photocard, that has to be renewed, but your entitlement to drive remains until 70.singhini said:i just looked into turning 70 and renewing your driving licence (its every three years as already pointed out).

if you have the old-style paper licence, you’re ok until 70. At that point, you have to get a photocard.

I think the point they are trying to make is that if you already have a 10 year photocard why renew it if the pink paper is valid until 70.Car_54 said:

The reason being is that once you've got a photocard the pink paper is no longer valid and in fact should've been returned to the DVLA.1
