EasyJet travel insurance via Collinson Insurance

Options

Any help would be grateful.

On Sunday 20/07/2025 my flight from Bristol to Copenhagen was cancelled by Easyjet. Flight Number: EZY2931

This was after delays at the airport.

(We were off for a short five night trip)

When I did the Easyjet booking I took out their travel insurance, thinking I would be covered for events like this.

I have put in a claim for cancelled accommodation and airport parking, as they could only offer us an alternative flight to Copenhagen on 24/07/2025.

Which would mean we would have had a one night trip.

Collinson Insurance are denying our claim for accommodation and parking.

(Easyjet refunded the flight cost)

Has anyone had experience of this? What was the outcome?

It seems that the Easyjet travel insurance isn’t worth the money.

Thanks

Have you read the terms of the policy?  Does it cover this scenario? If you think it does then ask them to highlight the clauses they are using to say it doesnt.

Many insurers would cover irrecoverable costs however they would offset the compensation that Easyjet owe for a late cancellation.

I don't believe that any travel insurer has the right to offset compensation paid for flight cancellation, but yes, refunds are a different matter, albeit one that doesn't seem to apply here where the claim was for accommodation and parking.

Hi - I'm still trying to get to the nub of that. They are being a bit evasive at the moment. Thats why I put this post up in the first place.
