UKPC car park - Gym Group 15 min overstay

Hi,
I received a parking ticket from UKPC while using the gym at The Gym Group for overstaying 15 mins, 12 am - 3:15 am.
Most of the time I was the only car in this large car park. I had a slightly longer than usual gym session. I provided them with proof I was at the gym the whole time. They've reduced it £20 but I still think its wrong.
They've stated I can appeal to POPLA but lose my reduced rate. Is it worth appealing, do I have a chance?
It seems odd to me, I like long gym sessions but I now have the added anxiety of making sure I don't accidentally go over the three hours.
Update: Parking ticket cancelled after my gym contacted them. Wasn't expecting that, seems the gym has some sway over them, considering they didn't even ask for proof.

Have you tried to get the GYM or landlord or landowner to cancel it first ? Plan A
If the vehicle overstayed then popla would likely conclude that the pcn was correctly issued, so the only suitable winning points could be poor signage and no landowner authority, definitely not mitigating factors or excuses
Most contracts would allow the business to extend the stay, like Morrissons do, so check with the gym ( possibly get your VRM details whitelisted ? ?
The £20 offer is in the BPA Code of Practice, so they have passed that hurdle
The real test would be holding out, fighting a future court claim, and possibly convincing a judge in civil court if it gets to a hearing ( a typical loss in court is about £212 )
Your case reminds me of the one I read yesterday

But Plan A is the best option2 -
Do you have to register your vehicle details at the GYM?manyeelui said:Hi,

Not yet, I will try to contact the gym however, I am not hopeful as their website states, "We don't have control over the parking at our gyms, so we can't influence any decisions made by the parking company. If you've received a parking fine but have followed the parking regulations, please use the appeal process provided by the parking operators as indicated in their letter. You will be able to access your gym visit information through the app to support your appeal."Gr1pr said:Have you tried to get the GYM or landlord or landowner to cancel it first ? Plan A

On that case your complaint should go to the landlord or landowner1

Look at any signage onsite, or any totem, for details, for example, Savills, or JLL etcmanyeelui said:
