DCB LEGAL letter of claim

Hey all!

I got 3 parking charges in 2020 during COVID when we had to queue to get into shops. I appealed and they said no I had to pay the PNC.
I ignored all the following letters (as I was stupidly advised)
Everything went quiet for maybe a year or two, now I've got a letter of claim from DCB LEGAL. It's £510 which is extreme. Can I still appeal? I've been told this is the letter before they start court procedures 😱

No worries you ignored the letters. No you can't appeal but you can defend a court claim with this forum's help. It may not even get to a court hearing DCB Legal often discontinue cases before the court fees are due to be paid. See Umkomaas thread think it's linked in NEWBIES.

I note that the amount being claimed has increased by a hugely exaggerated amount which the Government called "extorting money from motorists".

I have two questions, and under the PAP I am entitled to specific answers:

1. Am I to understand that the additional £70 represents what you lot dress up as a 'Debt Recovery' fee, and if so, is this nett or inclusive of VAT? If the latter, would you kindly explain why I am being asked to pay the operator’s VAT?

2. With regard to the principal alleged PCN sum: Is this damages, or will it be pleaded as consideration for parking?

Yes, email that LoC response to DCB Legal,  then await the inevitable court claim

I believe it was smart parking ltd I can't go to court and risk a CCJ 
I don't suppose you have their email? Checky I know, I don't know how to use this forum 🫣

You've already appealed you can't appeal again 5 years later.

Why not just read the rest of the second post of the NEWBIES thread to learn why you are NOT RISKING a CCJ by defending a claim?

Of course we don't risk anyone's credit!

Thank you to everyone who has replied and helped out here. 
There is so much info on the forum about PNC's it's all been a bit overwhelming after receiving this letter.
I've sent over my email. I'm sure I'll be back asking more questions soon 😀 thank you again everyone I appreciate your knowledge on this!!
