I have been told I need a new hip but I'm not yet listed as I need to lose a little weight first. Can I get travel insurance?

Yes but just be careful when completing any declarations that you are clear in that you are awaiting surgery (or whatever term your doctor has used). I found with both my OH and I undergoing treatment I couldn't use the comparison sites- and instead went direct to the company to talk through their medical declaration forms.

We have used Insure and Go in the past and they have been very good.  All you can do is call insurers and explain the situation to them.

Yes but you need to declare the condition and situation. You needing a new hip will need to be declared.

There are also insurers like allclear that are more for people with pre-existing conditions.

I often get quotes directly instead of comparison sites because of my pre-existing conditions.

If you have a packaged bank account which includes travel insurance, check with them first.  I was pleasantly surprised when my hip replacement didn't lead to any extra charge.
