Money Moral Dilemma: Should I give some of my lottery winnings to the person who gave me the ticket?

I don't think you're obliged but if it was a really big sum (5 figures or more), I'd be buying them a fairly lavish gift. even for 4 figures maybe a bottle of prosecco. It's just a nice thing to do.1

Giving you the ticket was an act of kindness.So why not repay that kindness with an act of kindness of your own? Offer your relative part of the prize. They'll appreciate the gesture - and if they don't want the money, they can always decline.

Keep it as it was a gift and follow the usual advice on winning the lottery and never tell people the full amount. Once all is set up and secure, offer the person who bought you a ticket something you feel is appropriate as a thank you

If its multi millions, give them a few grand. if its a few grand. i wouldn't bother
