I thought it was great, so many hampers have unusable goods. This one did include a christmas pudding, but everything else was anytime!!

Wine X 3!!, chocolates, biscuits, lovely chutneys, jams, hot chocolate, coffee and a good quality hamper!!

Only problem with ribbon is that it has no give, so if you take a plate etc out the others are not secure. Also you need a way of adjusting the fastenings on it if not. Elastic is better. Black knicker elastic is a good one.!! You can use a rivit or other fastening if you want to make it pretty, but just turning it through and sewing it to itself will work.
Only problem with covering jars with dates is they take the cover off to open them.
Perhaps it would be an idea to start to replace such items one at a time when you see that the dates are going to be in date at time you give the gift and a reasonable amount of time thereafter!
The wine wont be a problem.!

Thanks again Mooloo :D I've had a rethink, in between trying to work out the sim card thing, and I can see that covering out of date labels is a bad idea :o;):D Better to fill it with fresh stuff - preferably wine ;)

Incoming news: OH has just told me he can buy the empty baskets

I'll keep you all informed, because just before Christmas, after I'd finished most of the hampers, he brought home 4 x really strong, stiff, shopping type baskets (open ones with a handle) from a wine merchant that had even bigger baskets.

He thinks it was House of Townend in Yorkshire, but I'm sure it's not limited to just a wine merchants in Yorks????

    Thanks again anyway x

Add one of the £5 sims with £10 credit for free delivery!!

    Hi jeppy, again :)

I did that when I bought something else and ended up with a Virgin sim card. I'm on Virgin payg, but does adding a new sim card change your mobile phone number?

Just ordered 3 hampers with one Sim card....then realised that I should have placed 3 separate orders then I could have had 3 Sims...DOH....

passion8..Yes adding a new Sim does change your number...but I find these extra Sims are great if you wanna text to enter a competition or for making calls when abroad.

I know that Virgin allow you to transfer the credit from several Sims to another, but does anyone know if you can do the same with the Tesco ones?

Did my order through Quidco and has already validated £1.56 on £52.13 spend...except the order total was £61.25!

Just tried to find out the actual cost by trying to put all the items in a 'shopping basket' on Tesco...couldn't find some of them, but just the wine, jam and Twinings coffee and chocolate come to over £18...so the rest and the basket is FREE, FREE, FREE....gonna.wait for them to arrive see what the sell by dates are and then probably get some more....
