Parking eye advice

Options
Hello

Got myself deep into this Parking eye appeal business for a parking fine which I don't believe is justifiable.

Work as a doctor, attended a community clinic, parked in a staff bay as per my reporting instructions, received a PE fine as they set up a camera at the entrance to the car park. Reasoning being there is signage up stating patrons have to register at the desk for max two hours window. Well, I was told by the receptionist I needn't worry as I had a full day clinic it would not apply to me.

Received fine letter, immediately got this cancelled by the managers at the clinic who confirmed this in writing. Appeal to PE failed, they ignored the cancellation and my reasoning for appealing. Went to POPLA, also refused on the basis of signage.

Despite my fine being cancelled they still elect to pursue and both appeals processes have been unsuccessful and now they demand £100.

Fairly confident I would win at a court hearing, but does this experience match with what others have had? The whole process seems absurd to the maximum! I am also frustrated that Parking eye keep sending me letters by email rather than by post...

you are expecting these loathsome firms to have a semblance of intelligence - their whole business model is based on frightening as many people as possible hoping that a good % pay.

The emails they send cost nothing and could get them £100 - why would they stop?

you could complain to the BPA - you may get somewhere - but they are just as likely to ignore you as well...

It just seems insane to me how they are allowed to do this, it is essentially extortion because they are trying to get money off me that they have no right to get. I guess I will await the court date seeing as I have no intention to pay this racket.

Will print off all the evidence and hopefully be able to get a day off work. Noticed there was a guide on here about that. I just don't understand how they simply refused to take into account the fine was cancelled. I suppose they don't want healthcare staff in a carpark for a community clinic.

The parking company just want people in the car parks who don't pay - that's why they make the signs hard to understand - their sole aim is to catch people and t hen get them to pay - they don't care if you are disabled or saving lives - if they can extort a £100 from you they will try.

They also now claim that they cannot revisit the cancellation notice, as I have already gone through POPLA and been unsuccessful. So who exactly are they collecting this fine on behalf of. Absolute parasites this company is.

Have you received a letter before/of claim or a N1SDT claim form?

Please read this message and do the current Public Consultation:

It's vital the Government hears from people with unfair charges who have lost at POPLA. The link shows the two vital points to concentrate on, IMHO:

    - banning DRA fee add-ons completely*

    - making sure a new SINGLE appeals service replaces POPLA and the IAS which are seen as not fully independent and involved in a 'race to the bottom'.

*have PEye sent you an offer of a Payment Plan for the £100? If yes, please screenshot it and paste it here and also show it to the Government to prove that added money is not needed for payment plans. DRA fees are not justified and ParkingEye are doing Payment Plans without added fees.

Not yet. I've just been told to pay up because I lost the POPLA appeal, and that the fine cannot be cancelled as I have appealed and this was considered already in the rejection somehow.

They are lying to you, this is just a charge that they have made up for their own profit nothing else, of course they can cancel it at any time, but threats and nasty letters get them results.
Please stop calling this a "fine", it is no more than a speculative invoice from a bunch of chancers.

It's not a fine - it's an invoice for a perceived breach of contract.

    It's not a fine.

    You'll never pay it.

Did PEye send you a 'payment plan' letter or email? If yes, ignore it but please show it here. I'm gathering evidence for the Public Consultation that Payment Plans don't have to mean added fees, nor even third parties.

Don't forget to do the Public Consultation in August as well please, as I linked already,
