Are these for real or scams?

Got 2 letters today, one from Pure Atom about claiming a £4000  ECO4 grant
and another from Green homes scheme which says i can get £4000 to replace my current 16 x 250w array ( installed Nov 2015) with new 450w panels, keep my FIT payments and get an extra 10p a KW in addition to my current FIT payments.
Are these true and what is the catch.

The qualifying criteria for ECO4 are published by Ofgem:

If you think you might qualify, you can contact the energy companies directly - you don't need a fishy direct-mailing company as a middleman.

The greenhomesscheme.com website seems to have belonged (at one time) to:

That company was struck off in 2023.

Exactly who is running it now isn't clear.

The domain name was originally registered in May 2022 and records were last updated in April 2025, but other information about the owner / registrant is masked.

I got a letter from Pure Atom on Friday addressed to "The Occupier" saying I might qualify for a grant from £10,000 to £20,000.

AI seems to suggest that they are legit and not a scam, although I am still suspicious.

I might give them a phone call in the week, just out of curiosity, but will not give them any personal info.

AI isn't always correct, this seems one instance when it might be wrong. Just because the ECO4 scheme exists doesn't mean all the people peddling it are legit. I've seen multiple online adverts telling me I can get free solar panels without any caveats shown which are clearly untrue claims.
