TUI misleading app adds

I regulary receive adds for specific hotels on Facebook from TUI - with the Fly Local message.
There is one RIU hotel in south west Spain that caught my eye - when checking flights they are only from Gatwick !!!
We live in central Scotland - is somebody at Luton having a laugh ?

Are you suggesting that you should only see adverts for hotels reachable by direct flight from your nearest airport?0

Unless the ad claims that you can fly direct from your nearest airport then it is hardly misleading.
It is obviously possible to fly from Scotland to south-west Spain via Gatwick.0 -
South West Spain, so guessing Malaga airport? Must be TUI flights to Malaga from either Glasgow, Edinburgh and/or Prestwick, surely.0

If the app is saying 'Fly local' I would certainly expect it to be limited to availability from local(ish) airports, maybe 100 miles max. Companies collect all manner of information so just asking for the first half of a postcode when signing up the for app would make it simple to direct adds to the right people.0 -

I think TUI ads are often deliberately designed to be misleading. For example I have just returned from a holiday booked with TUI. My holiday price included a private taxi from airport to hotel and back but it didn't stop me getting personalised emails asking if I would like to add a private taxi to the holiday cost. Not, you would think, beyond the wit of man to target such emails unless perhaps they hoped to get you twice😥0

You're accusing Tui of being misleading, apparently based on the fact that Facebook algorithms display adverts for hotels that happen not to be reachable by direct Tui flights from your nearest airport, so the question isn't about how far from home you'd be prepared to fly from but (a) the degree of sophistication you seemingly expect from automated algorithms and (b) a lack of recognition (or awareness) of the fact that they're operated by a different company....0 -
Why would anyone trust an ad on Facebook...?
Surely the thread title should be 'Facebook showing misleading TUI ads'...0
