I had a delivery through Amazon, it was a mirror from China.  It arrived sandwiched between two pieces of cardboard with a thin piece of polystyrene over the mirror part.  It was a low price item, and I actually liked it when it arrived apart from the smashed and bent bit. Got a full refund without return.  Currently looking for another supplier that will package it properly.   Previously had this on a soup maker that stopped working.  That was NOT a cheap item, must have been about £40.
What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare

I returned a kettle as the lever to lift the lid was too strong for my wife's arthritic fingers

Took it to the post office and could not believe my eyes when the counter clerk ripped the parcel open, took the box with the kettle in and stuck the address label on that.

I asked what about the base and cable and was told they were not needed.

What is going on at Amazon?
I tried to return something the other day and was told they would refund me without sending the item back. I assume it cost more to send it back than they wanted to pay. So now I have useless boys football shorts I'm trying to give away or they will end up in the bin. I received my refund 12 hrs later
I know a couple of useless boys who might be interested in those shorts!

Very bizarre stories, never had an experience like that, I recently returned something, and it was the usual pick your method of return, I picked royal mail collection at door, they supply label.  Request for me to box it, which I did, courier turned up, put label on box and left, within an hour was refunded.
I suspect the post office were doing something they were not asked to do.

  • I returned something to Amazon via our local post office ,i wrapped it up and handed it over the counter ,she scanned my phone for the return info BUT told me next time not to wrap it up as they put items into bags for returning  and if not wrapped can see what you you are actually returning.
I have seen on tv several times where people have returned laptops and the seller has received something different in the parcel ,who swopped it ? who knows but sending something back un-wrapped helps the senders case if disputed.
