Vodaphone Mobile Contract

Options
I purchased a mobile phone from mobiles.co.uk (part of Carphone Warehouse) in 2020. Apparently, despite me thinking it was a handset and service contract, the contract was a rolling SIM only deal with Vodaphone. I recently noticed that I was still paying approximately £50.00 per month, even though the contract ended in 2022. I contacted Vodaphone to question the terms of the contract and they have said that they texted me in 2022 to say that it was coming to an end. I have no record of receiving the text. I just wondered if anyone had had a similar experience with a mobile contract and whether an unresponded to text message is considered sufficient notice to inform someone that the contract is due to end?

But even if it were a fixed contract when it ends it goes onto a rolling contract anyway, unless you take active steps to do something about it?
Have you not checked your bank statement for the best part of three years?

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

I don't think you have any comeback.  You signed the contract which explains (proabbly in small print) that when it comes to an end it will just roll over.  You could contact them and see what they say, and hope they give you some sort of special deal as a "goodwill gesture".  But they haven't broken the law, nor really done anything that other providers don't do.  An alert that it has come to an end may be a nice feature but I don't know how you'd prove they didn't contact you, if they were even required to in the first place.

It's really up to you tp keep on top of contracts, what they include and when they expire. I don't think you can moan about having paid the £50 every month since 2022. You should know what you signed up to in all honesty.
