Skipton problems with deposits today?

Options
Anyone having problems with deposits to Skipton savers and accounts this afternoon? I sent money at around 4pm and still I can't see the deposit in my member bonus saver. Strange because Skipton is quite often very quick. Anyone else in the same situation?

Sent deposits to 2 Skipton accounts this afternoon by bank FP.
    Both credited very promptly.

I've not made any deposits into Skipton today but as a spot of troubleshooting, which bank did you send the funds from, how many accounts do you have with Skipton and have you opened a new savings account with them recently?

I ask this because with some banks (e.g First Direct), if you try setting up a new payee with same sort code/account number but a different reference it ends up changing the reference for the original payee and setting up a new payee, again with the new reference, regardless of whether you have payee nicknames, which can result in money going to the wrong account if you're not paying full attention to the reference.

Thank you to those who helped with their comments. It looks like a mistake made by Co Op bank. The payment has been cancelled and sent again to Skipton just after Midnight

What sort of ‘mistake’ did Co-op Bank make?

I finally realised what happened. The payment, although not the first one to Skipton from my current account with Co Op, had been frozen for security checks. I had a phone call this morning at 8 and the deposit was finally sent. I understand that the bank needs to undertake security checks, but what I find surprising is the fact that this payment was the fifth made to Skipton with a payee already in place since last week in my co op current account. The money disappeared yesterday afternoon from Co Op and of course never arrived: not a great feeling when no one tells you anything and you start thinking that you could have made a mistake and it is already 6pm with no phone service till the morning after. I agree on the need of security checks but at least the bank should send an e mail or a message to the current account holder and not leave them with no news and just guessing what might have happened. Anyway after a 25 minute call the deposit is now travelling to Skipton.
I first thought about a mistake because the money briefly re-appeared in my Co op current account just after Midnight but then during night I sent just 1 pound to Skipton and that payment arrived in minutes making it clear that yesterday's deposit had been blocked.
Money in my Skipton account a couple of minutes ago, just before 9am.

I have had a similar problem with Co-op. I made two payments to my Nationwide current account in quick succession, and the second one was considered suspicious. Didn't take too long to sort out, but it's a bit annoying, so I don't use Co-op to distribute money around my regular savers.

Typical behaviour of someone discreetly attempting to empty an account. Most people would simply perform a one off transfer for the amount required.

Depends on the maximum amount allowed per individual transaction. Moving £80k-ish from one institution to another requires four separate transfers from my current account (which I do at different amounts to make them more identifiable if there's an issue). There's also their FPS limit which is my bank's case is £100k per 24 hours.

We're talking about the Skipton members bonus saver, a cash account . The "typical behaviour" is allowed by the unlimited deposits and withdrawals you can perform (5% interests hence perfect for dip-feeding my Zopa, Fd and Co-Op regular savers). Having said let me stress again that I wrote nothing against the checks, only said that one shouldn't be kept in the dark but contacted immediately by the bank. I think nobody likes the idea of having money disappearing for hours😉

If you are frequently making large Faster Payments, it helps to have a bank that is good for that. Santander is good for up to £100K over the telephone. I believe Chase has a higher limit, but you need to inform them in advance. Making multiple payments in quick succession is asking for trouble. AFAIK none of the banks inform you when they a holding a up a payment for security checks.
