Hi,.I don't know if it's for the heat of Portugal, but my British passport feels a bit sticky.
It's been in a bum bag all the time alongside the EU one, not in contact with water.
The EU one is perfectly dry as usual, but the British one feels a bit sticky, especially at the borders.
There's no discoloration.

Has it happened to anyone before?

Never had that and I have carried mine around in 35c heat.

As long as you can open it at the borders to show to the immigration officials there, you'll be fine

I checked mine which was replaced recently, and it's similar. Looks like they switched to cheaper materials.
