Hi
I need to give notice to cancel my contract, which ends on the 3rd of September 2025. We are moving home to a rural area and optic fibre connection is not possible as there is no fibre to the address we are moving to. I will either have to use RF or Starlink to get internet and I will have to get a landline. Mobile signal is not great. BT do not give options to give notice, other than a telephone call, which I can't manage because of crippling anxiety. I really hate making telephone calls. Does anyone have a suggestion to make contact with BT in writing? Should I write a letter and send it by post?
We should be able to cancel contracts without all of this nonsense.

Do you have a friend/relative who can phone for you? They could/should deal with a 3rd party but they'll have to speak to you momentarily to confirm that you are the account holder and card holder etc. We did this for my friend's car insurance. If your chosen someone explains the situation, they might be able to do it that way. And if not, your friend can then ask them what other ways exist for you to give notice - there should definately be a way in line with accessibility laws (but I'm not sure)0

They say that for those who are hard of hearing there is one of those free text apps that you can download. Perhaps you could try that - The way our post is at the moment I wouldn’t want to be relying on it to cancel the contract in a timely manner. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -
I was able to cancel a relatives services using the chat option last year0

What nonsense ?Your new provider will transfer your existing BT contract when you sign up with them and tell them you are moving from BT, your current provider.Mortgage free

I achieved my aim of communicating with BT via email. They don't make it easy, but the best way is to email them at consumer-resolutions@bt.com and put a complaint in. I find it ludicrous that you have to communicate the way they want you to. I also object to having to ask someone to phone on my behalf. Major companies need to accept that there are many people who do not want to make a telephone call.0
