Second Hand Car Warranty
Hello, I purchased a second hand car (which comes with a 3 month warranty) I also purchased a AA extended warranty, the second day of having the car I noticed a couple of faults, which I spoke/emailed/text the company. They have insisted that I deal with the AA and not them regarding the faults, I would have thought that the 3 month warranty with whom I brought the car with would be fixing the various issues with car and not the AA. Who should be taking care of this and fixing it?
Kind regards

Forget the warranty. Go back & tell them that you want them to fix or you will reject the car under your consumer rights.
How old & what mileage is the car?Life in the slow lane1 -
The purpose of the AA warranty is to distract you from your rights against the retailer.Consumer purchases come with a 30 day right to reject if the car really is faulty. There is also an assumption* that if anything goes wrong within 6 months, then it had a problem at the time of purchase, so it's the retailer's responsibility to fix it.*Unless the retailer can show that you broke it.If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.0 -
Daughter bought a SUV on finance, £8000, 3 months warranty
after 10 weeks the A/C wasnt working
"sorry, not covered by warranty AND THE 3 MONTHS IS ALMOST UP"
Luckily a £160 regas sorted it
*Tip"...... use your A/C in all weathers to keep system lubricated0 -
I told my brother in-law this as he doesn't run his AC to make his enyaq go further. He's more mechanically minded than I am, but he said this is nonsense. I'm still running my AC - I only switched it off the other day when I needed to get to Leigh Delamere services to charge the car - I reduced speed to 55mph at the same time and theoretically had enough charge to get to where I was going but decided to charge it any way...maxmycardagain said:Daughter bought a SUV on finance, £8000, 3 months warranty

Most A/C compressors are electric driven now & not off the belt.Life in the slow lane0

Only for hybrids and EVs. Turning off the A/C in an EV will increase the range and won't do any harm now and again, but ideally it should be left on all the time.born_again said:Most A/C compressors are electric driven now & not off the belt.1 -
It's actually a criminal offense to try and mislead you over your consumer rights. If they won't fix the faults, return the car with a letter of rejection. How did you pay?0

Only thing that effects range in mine is ramping fan speed up, temperature makes zero difference.chrisw said:

Yeah, it's reaching the set temperature that makes the big difference which is why you can pre heat or cool the cabin while it's still plugged in. However, I turn everything off, including the radio, when it gets to squeaky bum time.born_again said:

I did just that, they just ignored it and have already put my p/x on sale. Is it a legal right that I have for them to fix my car in that 3 month warranty, as I think I should go to the small claims court.0
