I got accepted and I am now on that Price Fix tarif. We are trying to pile on the jumpers and cuddle up underneath blankets, but I do prefer to know what my fixed monthly outgoing are. So for the moment I am happy.

Spoke to british gas last night.

Have to change the account names, therefore close one account, open another.

Then they have to send new pre-payment cards out for gas and electric meter.

They they have booked an electric meter change from the token to the key meter, then they will send us out a new key.

Then within 7 days, they are going to contact us to arrange deposit / meter change to quarter meter / select price plan etc.

Then once this is done, ill file for the £20 compensation as they were ment to change the meter on the 10th december, but failed to arrive.

Just remember a couple of things. If they failed Ofgem's Guaranteed Standard Of Service (GSOS), you not only get £20 but you get an extra £20 if they fail to pay you the initial compo in X days (can never remember without checking!)

Also, if they make you pay a security deposit you can get it straight back by switching Suppliers if you find a better one and want your deposit back quicker as they no longer need it after you have left them.

Npower was the first (I think) and their price rise was effective 5/1/08

Can someone explain when the traffic light will change? Getting nervous about being on an npower dual fuel rate (though although the rises looked big at the time, now everyone's doing the same it's not like I can escape it...)
