Just generally curious about where people have been or would like to go as I'd like somewhere new next year. I've posted this here as I'd like the views of my age group!
My country list so far is.
Andorra
Belgium
Bulgaria
Czech Republic
Cyprus
Egypt
Estonia
Finland
France
Greece
Germany
Italy
Ireland
Malaysia
Morocco
Netherlands
Norway
Poland
Portugal
Seychelles
Spain
Sweden
Thailand
Tunisia (soon)
Turkey
Considering
Cape Verde
Malta
Croatia
Montenegro
And further afield once retired. Either city breaks, sun holidays, culture or winter sports considered.
Any suggestions?

Valletta Malta is amazing if you like history, not only crusader times but it was also the HQ for WW2 mediterranean operations, and you can tour the underground base (similar to Churchill war rooms). People lovely. Many other towns also historic, some are 60's monstrosities to be avoided. Bus system comprehensive.
I was put off for many years due to the seaside resorts being like Costa del sol in the 1960's but spent last Christmas in Valletta and fell in love with the place.

For me the best country I have visited is Australia, love the beaches, sport and outdoor life style. It's just my opinion and not advice.2
-
Canary Islands - yes I know they're Spanish, but I'd say they feel different.Signature removed for peace of mind2
-
Very much so - in the same way Madeira is different to Portugal (or that was my impression).
It's just nice to see different cultures and experience different cuisines etc.2 -
French Polynesia and the Cook Islands
expensive and a long way to go but an amazing experience2 -
Longed to visit Thailand and now I'm OFFICIALLY retired those plans are in motion. We're going to be 57 and 61 year old backpackers next November. We have 31 days to fill with adventures.
So far we have flights into Bangkok and 4 nights accommodation booked and 3 nights accommodation in Kuala Lumpur where we're flying out of home.So excited. We're off to Southern Italy tomorrow- a new country for me.Travel is definitely a passion.5 -

I'd also recommend Malta. We had an amazing time there, and having an interest in the war I was fascinated by finding out about their experiences during that period. The hardship they endured was amazing. Roads are very busy though, and public transport can be slow and busy. If I was going back I'd probably pay a bit extra to stay in Valletta.
While you say you've been to France, it is a very big country, with a lot to see, and there will always be more, depending what kind of holidays you like. We've been many times, and have found something new every time. There is a very different vibe in the North of the country, and the bits nearest to the UK, from that in the South.
I haven't travelled as widely in Spain, but despite all the backlash about overtourism, I've found that areas like the North-West coast are still very welcoming.2
