DCB Legal Claim

Options
Hi, just a quick question, I have got to the point of completing my directions questionnaire and was awaiting any next steps. However today I received a call saying that DCB Legal wanted to speak to me regarding the claim but I am at work and unable to sit on hold.

Does anyone know if this conversation is potentially important/worth my time for anyone who has been at this point before?

Thanks

Its a common item in litigation,  they will want you to try to settle this over the phone,  possibly trying to bully you

Given that the mediation stage is now compulsory,  my viewpoint is that there is a time and a place for negotiated settlement,  if you are so inclined,  which is not in private phone calls, but at mediation only

    Block their number

I had the same with DCB Legal..  They wanted to talk with me about their claim against me (for £170).  Anyway I rang and spoke with Hannah firstly wwent off for about 10 minutes to familiarise herself with the case.  When she came back she asked if I was going to pay.  I asked what her role was and if she was someone I could explain me side of event to.  She told me that her role was to collect money from me.  If I wasn't prepared to pay the £170 they would take me to Court.  I told her I was looking forward to seeing them in Court.

Anyway months later the issued a discontinuance when they had to pay the Court fee.

Now I'm going to claim my costs against them.

That is an annoyance and something I have read with increasing frequency, they call you and expect you to sit on hold at their convenience.  They called you and should make sure the call is at your convenience.

Please can you recount exactly this full conversation, in answer to the Public Consultation question about DEBT RECOVERY FEES:

...saying that these add-ons MUST be banned and that your case proves DCB are not providing any useful service whatsoever. Pre-action stage is certainly not a time to let operators or DRAs add money, which clearly makes it much LESS likely that any right-thinking person would think "oh, OK, I'll pay it then!" Instead, it's cheaper to go to court.
