AXParis can they really refund me by gift card

Im just wondering if you got this sorted as I've just had a guftcatd for £149 sent me via email instead of a refund. I'm not happy as I needed that money. I've emailed them abd they said I'd selected the option for giftcsrd but im sure I requested refund. There is nothing I want to buy from them,  I certainly won't be using the company anymore.
