I’ve bought a W11 machine, but it is only an N100, and my old i7 running W10 is much snappier. I’ve been saving up Microsoft Rewards points, so I can exchange some of them for an extra year of free security updates on the i7 machine.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

I would recommend Linux - pretty easy to install & update and if just general web browsing, banking etc the easy choice.

Linux Mint would be the go to Linux Distro for Linux beginners

No need to upgrade or buy anything.

Morgan computers is a long established reputable supplier of used computers - for basic use with windows 11, under £200 will get you something decent, eg

I know quite a few people here rave about Linux.

I've tried out Mint & Zorin in VMs so my next comment isn't on the back of not having at least tried it...

    I'd much rather Windows.
