E10 has been the default in the US for decades. Briggs and Stratton engines are, of course, a US company.
E10 has been the most widespread petrol across other European countries for a decade and a half. It's all that's available in several countries.
E10 does not cause problems.
There are still people bemoaning E5, which has been the default in the UK since the introduction of unleaded over a third of a century ago... These people clearly forget or don't realise that Cleveland Discol was a widely sold "performance" petrol from the 1930s to the 1960s, and was around E30...Believe what you like.I won't allow e10 near my car that I purchased with the sweat of my brow unless 3 litres in an absolute emergency would be the difference between pushing it 20 miles and getting to a garage that sells e10 to immediately fill the tank.It actually had a new fuel pump under recall because e10 was causing the internals to swell and seize the pumps.On the other hand, if it was a PCP or lease that was going back after 3 years then I'd slosh the e10 in and save some money- any long term effects will be someone else's problemBriggs & Stratton do say their engines will run on it (they don't have much choice really as it is the default fuel), but warn against using fuel more than 30 days old, and suggest using large quantities of their fuel stabiliser to mitigate the corrosive effects.I remember Discol, that was in The Olden Days when cars were made out of proper materials, not dodgy biodegradeable plastics (that rodents chew....), and I have a vivid memory of breaking down on the way to Aberystwyth in my late father's Rover P4 with fuel problems- I can still remember the smell of that Discol.Our local garage was Cleveland, it was the cheapest as I recall and I so desperately wanted him to use Esso to get the bullet hole stickers.......(A few years later I wanted him to use Mobil, as if you bought about a thousand gallons you got a Matchbox Bentley 4 1/2 litre supercharged...)
I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....

If it's not desirable to have the Ethanol, just remove it. Lots of information around on how.I remove it from the Petrol used in my Historic car.0
