They'll have whatever you provided them when you took the policy out.cookie111 said:
ive been in touch with them & they have told me they have no way of finding out when i claimed & it only shows that there is still an outstanding claim. this sounds like they just dont want me to move to another company as surely they must have a claim date somewhere.DullGreyGuy said:
Look at last years renewal or your online papers, if they offer such a facility. You'd expect the declared date of the incident to be appearing on the schedule assuming it was less time ago than their cut off.cookie111 said:As I said it must have been about 5 years ago & to be honest I can't even remember what it was for.
All I know is they say there is a claim from a previous insurer which is definitely older than 4 years & my last insurer has no info as they no longer insure cars.
Surely if they say I have a previous claim they must have the info about it.
When my renewal comes around there is no info on any paperwork about old claims.
But, then, you should also have a copy of that in your paperwork... right?0 -

But, then, you should also have a copy of that in your paperwork... right?I do. Whenever I have an account with online documents, I download copies and keep them safe on my computer (and on the backup disk). You never know when a company will switch to a new computer system, and delete all the old stuff. Or maybe the company goes out of business. Anything could happen. If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.0 -
Have you recently (since claim) had a comparison site quote?
If you entered details of claim on there, it should still be recorded if you can sign in.1
