I suggested OP be confident and assertive in their rights, which is what we tell people here every day, and to do it within ear shot of other customers in store.

If you disagree with the last bit that's why we have opinions, however the melodrama of "shouting out" is your invention, I guess the typed word is easier to misunderstand than that which is spoken.

Hi, my parents came here to discuss fixing a phone with a cracked screen and walked away with two expensive phone contracts, I'd like to have a discussion regarding your sales practices when dealing with potentially vulnerable customers to establish if there was a breach of The Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act with regards to mis-selling.

We often hear about poor education of the younger generation (ML really goes at it)
But this drops at the other end. There needs to be some education to parents as they age & technology changes.
This is a good example of don't take phone back to the store in question (unless under contract). Find a local mobile repair shop, which would be cheaper.

We all keep learning through life, sometimes you just need a bit of education from the younger generation 👍
