Fraudulent Use of Address

Debt collectors and similar will be very used to fraudulent or simply out of date addresses. I doubt they'll waste their time being persistent unless they actually think there is something fishy going on.0

Once you engage with the debt company, they get your details and assign your name to the file and then start contacting you directly as though you somehow have some ownership of the issue.0 -

If several letters have been returned, then bin anymore received.
If it goes as far as court. It's the named person that gets CCJ, not the address. Should any court appointed bailiff turn up. They will be more inclined to take notice that said person does not live there.Life in the slow lane0 -

I disagree. I've done it at a previous house and the debt collection company were very understanding and sorted the issue.1 -
What kind of front door do they have. I am younger than your parents (79) but effectively live alone. I answered the door to 2 young men a few weeks ago & realised (not their fault) just how vulnerable I was. Not sure why just then but I did. I then remembered a door a friend had in their kitchen to stop their dogs escaping. My front door is now a stable door & when someone knocks I just open the top & the bottom remains locked.1

shall be a delivery to the addressee."

(comes up repeatedly in discussions here about "incorrectly delivered" items - it's the address of the premises which is "correct", not the name of the addressee)
