Are you sure the Home Visit is to verify ID to see if you are the correct person claiming?

Or is it to verify appointee?

Even if ID's are verified, if someone needs an appointee to act for them, then a Home Visit is arranged to verify appointee. And as part of this, they do check ID again of both the claimant needing appointee and the appointee.

The comments I post are personal opinion. Always refer to official information sources before relying on internet forums. If you have a problem with any organisation, enter into their official complaints process at the earliest opportunity, as sometimes complaints have to be started within a certain time frame.

Absolutely positive. All written in my journal. Both passed phone ID's but computor generated a home ID visit. I have since sent another 2 journal messages, both unanswered. Another email to the MP unanswered & emailed the charity carers benefits officer, who helped complete both online forms & all shes had is some generic job centre email back.
My UC a/c still stays waiting to see if eligible for UC, no advance allowed due to ID not proved, but in black & white written from someone called Karen from the jobcentre says " we both passed the telephone ID" the computor decided we need a home visit ID. I've even suggested a video call with us holding passports & the other various documents required ie birth cert, marriage cert, council tax bill, debit card, credit card, utility bill etc etc
I have checked every disability forum online & not one person as passed a telephone ID bio call to then go onto a home visit ID visit. I've checked waiting times in my area anything up to 12 weeks. I was advised to update journal to say my husband as completed an SR1 form from the Marsden, as apparently that takes priority. Which I'm sure was written on online forms anyway, but have updated UC waste of time journal & no response. Unless due to our ages & health conds they're hoping we're both be dead by the time they get to us & save a few quid!
I'm totally fed up with this now, 3 months I wasted collating paperwork scanning online as I thought I would have to attach tenancy aggreement, proof of rent etc but nothing. Its all just sat in a folder. We never even got the " another 4 attempts" for the online ID.
    Enough.....
