You could take an antihistamine tablet and use hydrocortisone cream? They are ok to use together as I take antihistamine for hay fever and have been prescribed hydrocortisone cream for a skin lesion.

I've been taking oral antihistimine and using hydrocortizone cream, they are gradually clearing but they are still pretty horrible.
