New sim, keeping number - help!

Hi, I switched my Sim to Lebara and it was fine apart from the days delay porting my number.

Just bought a new phone for my wife and thought this would be a good time to change her to the Lebara as she is paying nearly £10 per month.

The only issue is that she is very reliant on WhatsApp and the switch, keeping her number, means that she will be off-line on WhatsApp for one to 3 days.

it’s suddenly occurred to me that I could put her new Lebara Sim into my phone and port her existing number over to replace her new temporary number on her new Lebara Sim.

in the meantime, whilst the porting is taking place, she simply uses her old phone with her old Sim to use WhatsApp.

Do you think that might work? 

As I explain all this it’s sounding complicated to me and possibly fraught with issues. 😂

Probably more sensible to put the SIM into her old? Phone. 

And on porting day she can carry both phones around.

WhatsApp isn't reliant on the mobile number being continuously on that phone so the SIM number can change but the WhatsApp number will remain as the original one until or unless you make any changes to alter it.

Thanks guys, porting went ahead fine next working day. 

Continuous WhatsApp access maintained, also  maintaining continuous harmony in the Floutier household.

Just as an aside, might be best not to use your real name (if indeed you are) on here just in case it leaves you more vulnerable to fraud attempts
