DCBL letter for parking fines 3 years ago

Hi all, I’ve recently received a letter from Direct collections bailiffs ltd chasing me for 3 unpaid parking fines from 3 years ago and 2 years ago (February 2022 and May 2023). Ive read the newbies thread so know to ignore them and only to respond if I get a letter from DCB legal with the helpful templates
I never received a PCN so obviously had no idea about the fines and have passed the date of which I could appeal. The letter is dated 26th June, says to pay within 14 days of the letter date however i received the letter through the post on 5th July. A very sneaky scare tactic I’m glad I’ve not fallen for after reading posts on here. I’m hoping I don’t hear anything else from them but if I do, what are the odds of it going to court? I have proof of paying for 2 of the parking occurrences but not the third so not sure how that would stand if it did come to court. On looking back at my calendar I’m not even certain I would have been in my works office that day, but I don’t have solid proof of this.

difficult to say DCBL usually fold but for three they may take a chance for three.
I presume you didn't get the originals through the post?
could your V5 have been incorrect?2 -
I got nothing through the post. I did think my v5 address might have been incorrect as I’d moved house a few months before, but redirected my post while I changed everything over to the new address. I also had a PCN from the same car park in 2023 which came to the address I moved to via post. I appealed this and it got rejected even though I had evidence I paid for parking on that occasion too. Didn’t realise how prevalent they were with these fines at the time1

Definitely not fines, just private invoices ( pcns ) for the alleged breach of the parking contract on that private property ( magistrates issue fines )
Ensure that your V5c log book and driving licence are up to date
Email the DPO at the parking company with the correct address for the service of papers too
Ignore dcbl, but come back to this thread if DCB Legal contact you, or if you receive an N1SDT court claim pack from the CNBC in Northampton using MCOL in the post3 -
Thank you for the advice a couple of weeks ago. I’ve emailed the DPO of the parking company as per your advice. The vehicle this relates to I no longer own so I’m not in possession of the log book now.I did have a previous parking charge from this company a couple of years ago which I appealed and ended up paying as they rejected my appeal. This came to the correct address so I’m confused as to why they may have sent PCNs to my old address on this occasion. Could they have kept my old address on record even if my log book was accurate? And sent the PCNs to the incorrect address? Surely this would be a GDPR issue0

If they had done so, it would be a DVLA KADOE contract breach, nevermind a possible GDOR breach
The keeper could email the DVLA ( free request ) requesting access details between 2 suitable dates and see who accessed the database, and when, the reply will come by post, not email0
