Wing Security - Haringey Council PCN

After reading about Wing Security, I wish I had just ignored everything - but I thought I was doing the right thing appealing !

In short, my Second appeal has been rejected by Wing Security. We live in a street in Haringey which has 2 permits - a bay parking free permit for residents, and CPZ parking on the road. When I phoned the council, they only told me about the CPZ, which I purchased immediately. 8 months later, I’ve got a ticket for not having a residents permit. I sorted this the next day, and appealed thinking Wings would understand that this is a free permit + I was a resident and the council had in fact given me the incorrect information. However, second appeal has been rejected. I wanted to appeal to the tribunal (as I feel the whole thing is a bit unfair), however couldn’t find anything about where to go next. Then I stumbled upon these forums which have not painted Wings in a good light.

What are my next steps? Wings have told me also that I have to pay over the phone to get my discounted rate (which I find slightly weird that there are no alternatives!). Any help would be greatly appreciated!

As this is a council issue, you would be better taking this to our friends on: -
Read their posting requirements before posting your issue showing both sides of any PCN that you have received.

as far as i know wing parking are  ppc who have no access to the dvla database.

Was this a windscreen ticket, or something in the post?
    From the Plain Language Commission:

"The BPA has surely become one of the most socially dangerous organisations in the UK"
  • Windscreen ticket - but I stupidly gave my information when I was appealing (ie to show that I was a resident and entitled to the resident permit)

It will be Wing parking on behalf of an ALMO

They used to be a trade body member, but left or lapsed years ago

I doubt that there is any tribunal,  just a remote possibility of court

the third stage one is run by the council (or it used to be)
  • There is no mechanism for a third appeal - I thought the second appeal was to the council but was through Wings Security. Ticket had all the Haringey Council logos on it, but stated the creditor was Wings Security. Is there any avenue to appeal or is it best to just pay the fine?

    IMHO,  it's neither

Dont appeal,  don't pay,  because Wing are a private parking company,  not council
