Return of goods

Hi,
We have some goods which were ordered online. These were delivered in perfect condition however we didn't like them. So we wanted to return. I filled out the companies return form but they said because the card was in someone else's name they couldn't action so had to fill the form again. Which I did with the correct details but got the same response. So decide to take them back to store. However they couldn't action the return because it was a third party who fulfilled the order and I would need to ring customer service which of course at the time was closed. So I went home. I then rang customer services and said please just let me return them I'm okay with them charging the delivery cost just want the rest of the money back. They actioned this and said the third party company would be in touch for pick up and then 3-5 days would refund the money minus the delivery cost. However the next day I got the refund and it's now been over a month and still no email to organise pick up. I have been checking junk mail.
I don't want to travel to store again to return because it's a long way over an hour which would be out of my pocket.
I also don't want to ring customer services because they take an age to answer.
So at the moment the goods are in my attic waiting to be picked up. I feel these ain't my goods but now the responsibility is on the company to sort, why should I chase?
What would you do? Should I keep them? Sell them, give them away? What's my legal position?!
FYI these are cupboard handles nothing fancy!

The cost of the collection outweighs the value of the items.0

Depends how many cupboard handles there are, and how much they were each. What's the total refund that you got? It may be as said above thet the cost of returning and re-sticking is not worth it for the company. In which case I'd leave them in the attic for a few months in case they want them back, and after say 4 months I'd sell them or whatever you are going to do with them. It could also be a total error and they have forgotten to arrange collection.0

I agree. Assuming these are of minimal value, keep them for a while, give the company a final chance and then sell them or dispose of them. In theory, the company could pursue you for the value of them at any point in the next six years but it sounds like they've written them off.0
