Just had an email back from motorfinanceclaims.
Surely this cant be right if the lender is not cooperating.
- The lender has not responded to your complaint so at the moment we do not know which of the two commission models was used.

The FCA has suspended the complaints process into motor finance commission and that has been the position for a long time now. So, you could ask why your ambulance chaser attempted to get a response.
However, this is a lucky escape for you. You are able to get out of your contract with the ambulance chaser at no cost. You can then wait for the FCA report and follow the redress scheme instructions when they are published. All at no cost to you.

It may be so long ago the records have been destroyed.
Going through a third party always adds another layer of complication.
As you've employed that third party you have two choices, accept their advice or try going to the lender directly and hope they find your details.
However, if you do get compo should that be the FCA decision, then motorfinancecliams may still be due their cut depending on the contract you have with them.1
