Had long lie in after a busy couple of days and we are out again tonight so flying will be usuals, general tidying & WM.
It would've been my lil' sis's 56th birthday yesterday so we spent the day with mum & went for lunch, nice walk along the sea front (SPF50, hat, sunglasses, shoulders covered, water), stopped in pub to raise a glass. A nice day, not too many tears - she'd have approved 💖

on the way home from Gloucester last week - I swam on the way home and it was fine
Got out into the garden at 7am to do a few things before it got too hot - put cucumber plants in grow bag, emptied 2 new bags of compost into storage bin, snipped some fresh basil to bring to sil.
Did flower arrangements for sil and mum.
Replenished church flowers, vacuumed Church.
Journey to sil uneventful, used M4 instead of M3.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.6 -
A strange day. Woke up v. early because of the heat and the light and the birds singing (bless 'em). Tried to get back to sleep but failed so got up just before 6am.
Had a couple of brews and did my various daily puzzles (I too am a Wordler (five for me today as well...)).
Had a bath, got dressed, took my meds, fed the dog and the birds and watered the beans and tomato plants in the back garden, made breakfast (scrambled egg on toast) played with the dog outside for a bit and then peaked so went back to lie on my bed to snooze for an hour or so.
Got up and pottered about. Then supervised GD for a couple of hours and gave her lunch (she had to put up with a sandwich because it's been so hot!) whilst her Mum went on an errand. But the ice lolly for pudding was a bonus treat.
Then just couldn't do anything this afternoon other than loll about watching trashy TV as it's too hot and too humid for me. Oh - phoned in my butcher's order and bless, them, they delivered it to my door this evening.
But, due to it being my birthday tomorrow, I was taken out to dinner at a nice pub a few miles away this evening (there's something else going on tomorrow which precludes the birthday meal then). Fortunately it has a nice, sheltered garden so we were able to sit outside. Took us far too long to get there though because an accident had closed a major part of the route plus the other major route was closed officially due to road works so we had no option but to sit tight and follow the flow..
Anyways - off to lock up, brush teeth etc and off to bed...I am the leading lady in the movie of my life

@roundtuit - so happy to hear that Pops surgery went okay. Don't think he will up and dancing again soon, but you never know.5

Morning all xx
Another early start for me. I was up before 6.30 am. Stripped my bed, and my bedding has been washed and pegged out. Towels and tea towels are now swishing.
I've taken my meds, turned over the calendars, completed Strands with two hints (too impatient to work out the last word), completed Wordle in four, completed Connections with no lives lost, eaten breakfast and I'm supping my second brew. Oh, and I've updated my to do list.
@weenancyinAmerica thank you. 😘. Pops was moved from Recovery to the Rehab Ward yesterday and I visited him last night. He may be discharged today with the drain in. I'm rather hoping that they keep him in another day to allow things another 24 hours to heal.... because he's liable to start dancing before he's fit to do so. And he's so fiercely independent that trying to help him is a nightmare. I've told him over and over again that if he's sensible over the next couple of weeks he'll get better quicker. But Pops will do whatever Pops wants to do. And short of sitting on him there's not much I can do about it.
Bit annoyed with DB who announced yesterday that he won't be visiting Pops as he doesn't 'do' hospital visiting. Don't think hospital visiting is at the top of anyone's favourite activities list but heyho. I now have ammo to fire the next time DB complains that no-one visited him when he was in hospital 😉.
Have a good day. Stay hydrated.
Love to all.

Half way through weekend guests........................WM x 1 table clothes from yesterdays garden bbq party, on whirlyLoads of stuff in recycling bin, cans, bottles etc, ask OH and his brother to do it and sort the drinks coolers as well all done. (they both get a bonus point)Big council bin take to end of drive for me by bil.DW has been on overdrive, all clean plates stacked and put away.I am tired of acting as hospitality manager for the weekend, so I've sent all house guests / OH / anyone else who was hanging around (NND's) to the local car boot, and told them where to find the coast path for a walk, hopefully they will be gone for a couple of hours.I've hoovered round, done the bins etcI've not done the bathrooms as there are a few more days to go.Lunch today, the fridge will be opened, everything left over from yesterday will be put on the dinning room table along with plates etc and all told to help themselves, hopefully after lunch all the food will be gone. And breatheBreast Cancer Now 100 miles October 2022 100 / 100miles

Good afternoon, it’s been a very busy day here, and this is the first chance that I have had to sit down, so currently chilling in the sun with a cold.
I didn’t get much flying done yesterday, but I had a lovely day with the family, as DS was taking part in a local traditional event, which involved a short procession and an on-stage ceremony, followed by visiting a few stalls of local traders and charities. In the evening, we attended a community disco as part of the event. Yesterday was pretty much a family day, so although it wasn’t productive, it was time well spent.
Today, I had an early start to the day as DH, DD, DS, and I attended a local church service as part of the traditional event that DS has been taking part in this weekend. After the service, we took part in a short procession walk to the pier. Once DS had finished all the tasks he needed to do, we dashed back home for a quick change and then took DD to the stables to deal with her horse. Once DD had finished at the stables, I did a quick stop at the local shop to get some items that I had forgotten to order from Mr T.
My list for the rest of today
Remind DH to have a look at the car before we go on holiday tomorrow
Speak to DH regarding the laptop and possibly order
Iron clothes that are needed for next week
Laundry x2 loads
Pack stuff for next week
Pay the credit card
Take DD over to the horse to feed, and need to clean his fieldI think that is everything that I need to tackle today. I hope everyone is having a lovely Sunday/weekend and managing to stay refreshed.
