I'm sure I started a post yesterday...
Welcome back again, soappie! x
Jazee, I hope you have a lovely birthday weekend and enjoy your celebrations xx
Yesterday, at his request, I took some more rather large items that DH had decluttered from his mancave to the air ambulance CS - a tool box, laptop bag, drawer inserts, etc - then carried on round M€rry H€11 to get some cheap T-shirts for my friend K's younger daughter M. At just 10yo she is already wearing women's size M, poor child. I ignored the risqué slogans blazoned across the fronts (coconuts, anyone?) and managed to find a couple with all-over patterns and a red one with a teddy in sunglasses - good choice, as that was her clear favourite. Having succeeded in sorting out that bit of my shopping list, I stopped off at a C0$ta for a much needed iced coffee, but forgot to ask for decaff - I was still wide awake at 1.30 this morning! I spent the afternoon cooking moussaka, in order to use up the aubergine I'd bought a week ago, and then went to W's Open Evening: very pleased to hear that she has done well in her SATs, especially as she was really struggling with Maths this time last year.
Today I still have one long letter of feedback to write and send off to the travel agents. DH went off to the clinic just before 9.00, and I'm hoping he'll be back by 11.00 to deal with his new computer - he still hasn't finished sorting out everything on his desk, so I don't know where he expects to set up the new monitor. Rosie will need a walk today, but it's already too hot, so she will have to wait until this evening. I've set my phone alarms for 4.45 and 5.00 to remind me to go to the podiatrist at 5.30.
Hope everyone has a good day. Remember to keep topping up those glasses or water bottles. xxx6 -
Good morning, it's another very warm day here with little breeze, but I decided to have a lazy start to the day.
My list for today
Go to the stables and put the horse out into the field
Pack up the equipment that needs to be returned to a client that I've finished working with. work in progress
Fill in and submit a job application for a job that I saw advertised this morning work in progress
Answer the volunteer message from last night
Try on clothes that I want to take on holiday, but haven't worn since last year. Happy they still fit me, so currently being washed to get packed for holibobs
Laundry x 2 loads
Check banking, d/ds and work out the finance budget
HH sorting out coursework as I have small piles in various locations which need to be sorted out, filed and stored away
Wipe down the kitchen surfaces
Hoover the living room and hall
Make packing lists for next week, as we go on a holiday next Monday for a week
Sweep the kitchen floor
Cobweb dust downstairs
Speak to DH regarding pricing for DW
Do some work on the garden as it has become badly overgrown
Take DD to the stables so she can ride and deal with the horse
Take the dog for a walk if it cools down (I've just been letting her into the garden during this hot weather) Still too hot so dog is chilling in the shade in the garden with DD
I seem to have a big list for today, so I'd better get started. I hope everyone has a lovely Thursday.

Afternoon all. Welcome back Soappie.Much too hot but I've done three loads of washing which dried in a couple of hours each. Lots of deadheading in the garden and sweeping and moved some things about. It was too hot for that really but done now.Just drank two glasses of water and I'm hiding inside now.5

It's been too hot here today. But I have achieved some things:
- Sorted out the clean, dry underwear that I bought in off the washing line yesterday (paired socks, folded knickers etc.) and put away.
- Gave the dining area of my kitchen a good clean - including Dysoning the dust off the laptop keys, screens etc.
- Sorted out the bits and pieces on the top of the sideboard in the living room and put them away so it's clear again.
- Put some lamb chops with leeks and shallots in the slow cooker for dinner tonight.
- Cleared living room floor of mats etc. and pulled out chairs from under the dining table in the kitchen and set my robot vacuum off to vac those two floors.
- Took delivery of a new toy - a robot window cleaner which I will properly investigate tomorrow (it's only just arrived).
