Hi, not sure where to post this, so if not in correct place, happy for it to be moved.
Anyway, my tale of of woe goes back to 1st April(!). I had to send a key a back to a client, as it was one of those keys which can only be cut on specific authority, it was sent as a tracked delivery. We knew the client would not be in to sign for it, but everyone was happy with having a tracking process, for a next day delivery, paid the cost, got the tracking number, all good, or so we thought.
2 days later, we got a call from the client asking if the key had been sent as not received. On checking the tracking we discovered that somehow, despite the envelope being clearly addressed with a central London address, less than 10 miles from where it was posted, it had been entered as an international delivery. For the next month, the envelope was over & back to Ireland. Eventually, we eventually received it back at the office on 30th April.
I have been trying to get a refund on the cost of the postage as we eventually hand delivered it, but RM cannot comprehend that we are not looking for a refund for cost of goods. Today, they closed the claim on the basis that we had not submitted the proof of cost. We are only claiming for the postage cost, proof which which we did provide at the beginning, as they are in breach of contract in that they did not deliver the post to the recipient, which was what we had paid for.
Any suggestion on how to progress this?
