Would it be possible to hide posts we are not interested in (IE: Clicking the RED CROSS would then make the post vanish so you would not see it on the forum again)

Can we have a separate forum for the (MD) comps

I would like MD (Mag Daily) posts to be removed from the main board as there seem to be an increasing number of these that are viewed by a relatively small number of users. I have just had to red tag 51 MD posts this morning between 10.12am and 12.09pm that I am not interested in. Going back in time I do not remember MD’s being posted at the rate that they are now. Apologies if this has already been mentioned but I would really prefer it if they were posted in a new place in Competitions Time.
The reason there are so many just posted is because there are 2 new magazines added to the mag dailies. Now they have been posted they will settle down and go back to normal. Just because they are a mag daily doesn't mean they have to be entered every day. People do still enter them just the once and have won I won a holiday to Chamonix from just one entry. If they were moved away from the main board then I feel many people would miss out on entering them.

Totally understand that people may want to enter them and that there may be some new ones but if a new option was introduced into Competition Time (like Advent comps etc) they could still be entered. Over recent times I believe that entries for MD were high before the new ones.

There’s less daily magazine competitions now than there used to be as so many closed - the difference is that new ones are opening up to take place of the closed ones - once that settles down so will the amount you see popping up.
    Happy Comping All!

But then many people would miss them if they were posted in a separate area especially people new to the comping boards. On the main board everyone gets to enter them and it is so easy to just use the X button to skip them. Advent comps are different as they only last for one month of the year and there are so many of them and a lot more than a few mag daily comps.

For me if you start moving comps around to different sections it could be confusing for many users and where would it end with what comp goes where and how would it work for searching to make sure a comp hasn't been posted to avoid dupes before posters post a comp. Plus many comps could end up being posted in the wrong section especially by users new to comping.

Ok, the site is for all and if you think users will not check the Competition Time page for example for high money prizes such as provided by Take a Break/Puzzler then I guess maybe it should stay as it is. I understand that new users have to learn about the site but perhaps I have more faith in people’s ability to learn. Anyway a good conversation so thanks.

With regard to other features, it would be good if the Comp-liment button could highlight whether I've pressed it. At the moment I can't see if I've Comp-limented a post, unless I'm one of the ten most recent people to do so. It would be great if it could go bold and/or a colour after I've clicked it, and appear that way when I go back to the thread later. This would be especially useful for threads such as the Take a Break Puzzle Magazines thread because there are multiple comps posted within a thread, so people use their Comp-liment status to track whether they have entered the competition on that post as they can't use Skipped/Entered which only appears on the thread as a whole. -agree with this

i wish i could type a date and it would go to that page. i end up trying to guess where it might be
    please keep enter /skip button.

would be great if competitions were listed under type, instagram, facebook etc as i like to avoid certain type of competitions.

i like the sort function. As I have time restraints I often enter the higher value ones.

i find the advent list chaotic. i liked it when it was listed under type.i like the prizes over £100 section.
