There have been several discontinuations this week  alone, hundreds over the last few years

I think one was discontinued yesterday with a hearing tomorrow or next week

Coupon-mad suggested that they should sign up to courtserve for free and check the day before

Thank you - I can’t seem to register in that website but I definitely believe my hearing won’t go ahead - I just wonder what the next stops are/if PE are likely to try and get the case reinstate. Thanks.
Unless it has been struck out then the claim is still alive; you'll need to phone the court and ask them.
Given the awful centralised phone service now i would always recommend emailing a defendants local court and NEVER call.
I agree I tried phoning the centralised court centre and they couldn’t tell me anything.

Are DCB Legal involved at all?  They sometimes represent PE, and frequently fail to pay the court fee. PE, when running their own case are not noted for failing to pay the fee.
The correspondence has all been from Parking Eye I’ve not seen anything from DCB Legal.

Put in a WS & evidence by email to the local court tomorrow and cc in ParkingEye.

    That should flush it out.

You can certainly register for CourtServe.

Yes, flawed timings. Or useful timings if you want to go for costs.

It should be struck out, but that doesn't mean your witness statement shouldn't be submitted because the strike out could be in the post, or not even posted out yet.

Not paying the hearing fee is unreasonable behaviour though and if it struck out you should be able to writet o the judge for the wasted costs in formulating your witness statement.
UPDATE: Phoned central courts claims and the case was officially struck out on the 03/07/25 on their system so I am not going to submit anything as in my view the case is dismissed. I guess I’ll have to wait and see if PE can get the case reopened if that’s possible but I feel confident I’m doing the right thing now.

Just received an email from court saying it’s been officially struck out and I do not need to send anything in. “PE can respond to set aside, varied or stayed within seven days of the date of receipt of this order.” Unsure what this means if anyone has any advice thanks!

Hold on to your paperwork for the rest of the year in case PEye make an application. Can take months before Defendants find out.
