Morning again, it's a grey start but the sun is starting to break through.
I've just accidentally deleted my post, so I'm gnashing my teeth down to the gums grr.
I'll wish everyone a good day for now, may pop back later.
Take care folks.14 -
Good morning, thanks Scarlet, I thought I was early today.
Just sitting here by the open window enjoying the early morning air. Not much chance of DH or big dog joining me yet.
Gosh, it was hot yesterday. We have a new Ald* store that opened in a nearby village. DH said let's go for a run out and find it. I think everyone else had the same idea, the place was heaving, but the air con was fantastic, I didnt want to leave. Didnt buy much as there wasn't much we needed, but I could have spent a fortune there was so much more stock than my usual store. Not sure if I'll continue to go there as it means a trip up the motorway, not my favourite.
Dinner last night was steak baguettes, tonight will be bbq chicken with a pasta salad for me and chips for him (he doesnt eat pasta). Other than that, no idea what today will bring, I had no plans to go out yesterday. I do need to do a Lids shop, I've got a couple of freebies to pick up, but may leave it until tomorrow.
That's all from me, have a good day all.

A belated happy birthday Mehefin
TTB hugs, hope you can get it sorted out.12 -
Morning folks and thanks SCARLET. OMG yesterday was beyond hot and I had the worst night with the bedroom seeming to get hotter and hotter. But, as usual, it's all set to end in tears as rain and thunderstorms are forecast for later this afternoon. Hopefully it will clear the air. Why is the temperature never just right here, it's either too hot or too cold and too wet or too dry!
Other than giving everything a good watering yesterday not much else got done. Too hot for toiling and nothing waits for another day like jobs! So most of the day was spent feet up watching tennis. Some gripping first day matches.
Today, all being well as usual, I am meeting DF for lunch and a natter. We seem to have missed a few weeks with one thing and another.
Have a good day folks if you can with ((HUGS)) for all in need. Belated birthday wishes for Derek. Take care all, stay safe. xx

Morning allWhat a sticky night. The ceiling fan/light was a godsend but still very hot and muggy. It's going to be just a little hotter today, expecting 32 degrees, so nothing on the cards except watering the garden, watching Wimbledon and depending on whose playing sitting reading my book.Keep cool everyone and have a good day x13

Good morning and thanks for the start @ScarletRibbons x
Belated birthday wishes to @mehefin x
A NWD for me and I’m treating myself to a cervical
screening first thing - I know how to live (sorry Derek!). Better safe than sorry though…
We are going to start clearing DS2’s bedroom today and a tip run is planned for 2pm. Such a cathartic exercise isn’t it?
Theres washing to be done and tea is chicken pesto pasta which is nice and quick. I also want to hoover round and tidy up as didn’t get a chance over the weekend.Hope you all have a good day

Morning all - thanks for the start @Scarlet.Not even a smidgen of sunshine was seen here yesterday, instead it was all grey low cloud and miserable heavy drizzle all day. An unusual east wind added to the misery for a short while. I went up to the big shops but only briefly, the drive there took longer than the shopping. As for today, the sun is out and large parts of the sky are blue with slowly drifting big fluffy clouds on the lazy west wind. It's a day for maybe going out or, if I'm really lucky, sitting in the back garden being idle. Can't cut the grass as the new battery still hasn't arrived. I was promised 'next day' delivery on Thursday, however typically things go to Glasgow first, stay there for a wee bit then are taken to the Argyll depot in Oban (i.e. past me) before being sent out. It's time for the monthly banking spreadsheet to be updated. I made a few changes recently so there's all that to make sure its properly recorded.12

Good morning 😊
First of July, it is.
Thank you for the support yesterday, and thank you for the link to the other forum page @Gers. We had a long talk last night, and dropping hours / taking a pay cut isn’t sustainable, so looking for a new job is top priority, now.
I am looking at subscriptions that can be cancelled. I renegotiated with our broadband provider, dropping from £67 a month, to £39. I need to try to reduce the grocery budget even more, but I don’t want to forsake eating home cooked meals. I may just need to shop smarter.
On to today, I am making both a beef crumble, and vegetable crumble. Instead of the sweetcorn fritters I intended on yesterday, I made crispy polenta slices instead, and there are some of those left, which will do for lunch. I have the Local Pantry this morning, and I am hoping they have plenty of vegetables available. I picked up a fair bit last week, but they can’t guarantee it.
My chores for today:
1) Deep clean the dining room, including sweeping and mopping the floor ✅
2) Declutter the glasses cupboard ❌
3) Pick up, and put away ✅
4) Wash the sofa throws ✅
Hope you all have a good day 😊13 -
Morning All
A lovely bright and sunny morning here. There's been rain overnight, yesterday was overcast all day but incredibly warm. Washing will be done once I'm back from swimming - hoping there aren't as many old folk in first thing as yesterday was a challenge. If they just want a chat then they should go to the park or a coffee shop! Rant over.
I weeded the plot at the allotment for an elderly gent yesterday and was going to dig some more at allotment 2 but my back was complaining so will do that today hopefully. Finished reading a book and watched some TV - perfect relaxing activities.
Belated birthday wishes Mehefin, lovely you were asked to tea by good friends.
Sorry to hear of the redundancy TTB, hope something comes up soon.
Happy clearing out Coxy!
Hope everyone is well, have a good day. Take care. XX12 -

Morning all.
It's already 26 degrees downstairs and will get hotter later. DH set up the air con unit yesterday so I'm hoping we can run that again today and keep at least one room cool.
I'm off to get my hair cut in a while and will pick up some bits at the shops. We're down to 3 eggs, which will never do! This evening I'm playing for my main Morris side at a pub near Aylesbury so we'll need to eat early. I've defrosted some burgers and will make a broccoli salad, which was linked to on one of these forums the other day.
Other than that I will be catching up with the ironing and watching the tennis!
Hope everyone else has a good day and manages to keep cool.9
