sony ericsson k610/message delivery reports

happy new year all
for xmas i got a new sony ericsson k610 unlocked mobile to use on the 3 network, but i cannot see how to turn on message delivery reports, i can find it on my sons sony ericsson k800i but my phone has a different software version cxc1250374 r1jg001 070214. anyone got any ideas what i am doing wrong?

if anywhere, it should be in messaging > settings > text messages > delivery report (thats where it is on all my SE phones).

EDIT: just had a look on my k810i on r1kg001 (and a k800i on r1kg001) i can find an option. i cant find the option in a k800i on r8ba024, but it has the option for picture messaging delivery reports

I can find the delivery report option in picture messages but its not there in text message settings.
