I was told I couldn't claim compensation awhile back but I think I was misinformed. Here's what happened to our flights ...
24/7/22 (Yep, almost three years ago) Booked SKG to EDI via CGN with Eurowings. First flight take off was delayed by an hour and a half so we missed our connecting flight. Eurowings put us in a hotel and flew us CGN to LHR the next day though even that took off over two hours late. I don't think we were told why there were delays.
That left us catching trains and taxis at our expense to get back to Edinburgh.
So are we able to claim anything?

Statutory compensation hinges on the why the initial 1.5 hour delay...it needs to be within the airlines control for compensation to apply - not weather, ATC etc
irrespective of compensation, if you were ticketed to finish at Edinburgh you should have been rerouted to get to Edinburgh at no additional costs to yourself...do you still have the receipts for your travel from Heathrow to Edinburgh? (I would have thought the BA flights would have been the obvious solution)1 -
You might be due compensation, depending on the reasons for (i) the initial delay in Singapore; (ii) the further delay to your departure from CGN.0
