Court Win – Claim Dismissed (Birmingham County Court)

I attended court today to defend a private parking charge in front of a District Judge at Birmingham County Court.

This was my first time in court, so I was understandably a bit nervous about the process. Before the hearing, the court usher asked whether I wanted to speak with the solicitor representing the claimant (Gladstones Solicitors). I agreed, although hesitantly.

The solicitor told me it was a “50/50 case” and even offered to settle for £60. I refused and said I believed I would win.
The hearing went ahead and the Judge ruled in my favour. Claim dismissed.
For context, I had prepared a 21-page witness statement supported by photographic exhibits showing signage issues and site layout. The background work and preparation were absolutely critical.

Big takeaway:
Put the work in. Read, research, gather evidence, and prepare properly. It makes all the difference.

I had two separate cases.
One was with Secure Parking, represented by DCB Legal. They discontinued before court.

The other was with Euro Car Parks, represented by Gladstones Solicitors. That is the case that went to court today, and I won.

I probably didn’t post anything for the second one because I already understood the process from the first case and simply followed the same forum advice and templates.
