OFCOM produced a report on network resilience which basically stated that providing up to 4 hour battery backup on all sites was not feasible due to it costing in the region of £1 billion. Wonder what OFCOM spent the money from their many frequency auctions on? That money would go a long way towards creating a more robust network.
