Both times, when questioned, they have terminated the contact prematurely.

There's nothing further to be discussed from their perspective.  Endlessly going around in circles is a waste of time. The customer service agent is better moving on and dealing with the next query in the queue.

Huh? Where are you getting from his post that he was attempting to go back and forth with the agent? I don’t see it.

That's plain enough English to me.......  nothing more to be said end the call.

Ah, okay, sure, fair enough. But I somehow doubt that many would take it very gracefully when the other end abruptly ends a call after being asked a question. But who knows for sure, though?

I do agree that it appears futile to pursue further at this point. Ebay seems to have already made up their mind.

From eBay's point-of-view, if they revealed the reasons for suspending accounts it would make it easier for dodgy traders to try to work around them.

Of course it's harsh on people like the OP who genuinely appear to have done nothing wrong.

Easy to resolve. Don't stand out from the crowd. Technology spots irregularities with consummate ease.  :)

Given the low level of profitability in running many retail accounts. Ebay's policy is probably switching to a close the account scenario. Not worth the time and expense of human intervention to investigate.
