Vodaphone now chasing via debt collectors for a debt I do not owe.

I had a Vodaphone contract that ended  February this year.

I gave notice on that contract and received a confirmation email that contract was ended on the contract end date and that I was actually owed money back. (Did not receive it)

My phone number was then disconnected.

I then took out another contract with Vodaphone from that date and received a new number.

Regarding the original contract: I have been bombarded with emails and letters from Vodaphone stating I owe them money when the reverse is true.

I have been through the customer services to ask them to stop. I have had several chats asking them to stop. I have written a letter of complaint, asking them to stop. I have written to CEO Vodaphone to ask them to stop.

Yesterday, I receive a debt collectors letter threatening me with damaging my credt report and or court  and cutting off my phonewhich they cut off the day the contract ended.

I am at my wits end with this harassment. I now cannot get into the account as it is closed. I can no longer access chat as the agent insists upon sending a pin code for security reasons to the phone number they disconnected. The same with customer services.

I cant phone as I am deaf. Use phone for texts, whatsap, internet etc.

I am stumped as all attempts to contact them does not receive a reply.

That I owe them but I cant understand where they got the charge from. The amount is not relevant to any monthly mobile amounts. And as I stated, they closed my account so cannot access it. The email I received confirming the end of my contract stated I was in credit to £12.86.

The final bill will have explained what the charges were for. Did you discuss it with Vodafone at the time?

Your final bill provides you with a complete breakdown of all charges. Just because your account is closed doesn’t mean any outstanding amounts are no longer due.

You're not really helping people to help you here. Did the final bill have a debit balance, and did you pay that?

If you're disputing the final bill, so did not pay it, that's why its gone to debt collectors. You need to explain why you think that bill is invalid.
